Shelley Horan

Shelley Horan is an Australian advertising and fine art photographer based in Melbourne. A lifelong creative, Shelley’s lens focuses foremost on the beauty of still life—everyday, overlooked, or mundane objects reimagined in vibrant, surprising, and often chaotic compositions.

Her approach is characterised by unorthodox colour combinations, bright energy, and a commitment to transforming the ordinary into the precious. Drawing inspiration from common household items, bathroom essentials, and even everyday rubbish—such as two-minute noodles, cigarette lighters, and disposable razors—she gives these objects a new meaning.

Her fine art practice centres around the concept of ‘play’, often translating into commercial work, and of contrasts: rigid vs. fluid; ordinary vs. extraordinary; playful vs. refined. Scale, texture, movement, and material are significant in her visual language.

Shelley’s advertising clients include MERIT, Penfolds, City of Melbourne, FOILE, Frank Green, Dan Murphy’s  JULY.
